Curriculum Vitae
Heike Grimm holds the Research Lectureship for Public Policy at the University of Erfurt. Her research focuses on entrepreneurial public policies for the promotion of state, local and regional economic growth in comparative perspectives.
Before taking up her appointment at Erfurt, Dr. Grimm held research positions at the Research Institute of Public Administration of the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer, and The University of Munich. She worked as a Senior Fellow at the German-American Center for Visiting Scholars in Washington D.C., an adjunct institution of the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) (Washington D.C.) and the Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore).
Her research has been funded by numerous institutions, among others by the European Science Foundation, the European Commission, the German Ministry of Economics and Labor and the German Ministry of Education and Research.
Besides her research activities, Dr Grimm has worked as a consultant for the Ministry of Economics in Lower Saxony, the Ministry of Economics in Brandenburg, and for consultancies in Berlin, Hamburg and Brussels.
Currently, she works with German and European associations for small and medium-sized companies promoting public policies for SMEs and start-ups. She studied Political Science, Economics, History of Economics and Arabic at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and at the London School of Oriental and African Studies. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Munich.
